ALSO - TO THE RIGHT HOME:

Chanter (4yo filly by Whitefield King Duncan out of Ceilidh of Glenmarkie) to make 14.1 hh.  Ideal for breeding but also suitable for showing and family pony.  Very quiet and easy to do.

Merry (4yo filly by Whitefield King Duncan out of Kayleighdene) to make 14 hands.  Ideal performance pony and for showing/ dressage.

Both ponies will grey out eventually.

Below: Chanter on the left, Rain centre and Merry on the right.

Having bought back Holly, I would now consider selling Chanter to the right home as she is a full sister.

Merry would make a super ridden pony and she is forward going and has superb paces.  Similarly I would consider selling her.

They will both be covered by Forester if not sold by May/June.

Above: Chanter and Merry come to call and are shown here happily going into the stables for some handling.  Both load and lead are good with the farrier.

Below: Harvester - September 2011

Ellister Islay Harvester, yearling gelding by Whitefield King Duncan out of Ballinton Lady.

Harvey is easy to catch and headcollar, is now leading and loading and ready to go to a good home.

Our new Richardson rear facing trailer has arrived !!  We are delighted with it.  And this will mean our old trailer can be used for storing hay or for leaving in a field to practise loading youngsters.

We shall be able to deliver to Central Scotland, including to Lanark Mart free of charge - for collection or onward travel by a transporter.

Now that we have concessionary fares for horseboxes on the Islay ferry, very competetive quotes can be given for transportation all the way to anywhere in the U.K.

Ponies can be brought in front of the webcam (time by appointment) so that you can get a general idea of them before visiting, or videos may be available.

Islay is due west of Glasgow and is served by three ferries per day and two flights.

The ferry leaves from Kennacraig on the Mull of Kintyre and takes approx. two hours.  The journey to Kennacraig from Glasgow takes approx. 2.5 hours by car; longer with a trailer. Take the A82 out of Glasgow, via Loch Lomondside and Tarbett; then take the A83 over the Rest and Be Thankfull and Inveraray to Tarbert.  The terminal is roughly five miles through Tarbert, heading for Campbeltown.

The cost of a car & trailer is about £150 as if taking livestock to or from Islay, the trailer travels for free on the other journey.

Booking is essential:

Caledonian MacBrayne have just agreed that horseboxes can now travel free one way if empty on one journey, the same as trailers and cattle floats can.  This will make a huge difference in price, to anyone wanting to collect a pony from the island, or having it delivered all the way by transporter.
